Christmas 2008

We stayed home for Christmas this year. I believe it was only our 2nd time since we've been married. Christmas Eve was spent with Kip and Jessica having our traditional crab and potato dinner. We had a little program with a story read by Kelby about the legend of the candy cane, next Kip read in Luke about Christ's birth and then the kids got to open presents from their cousins.

When we got home the kids were so excited to open their 1 present from mom and dad on Christmas Eve. Christmas PJ's, they all had matching ones with cute little monkeys eating candy canes on them. Then they were off to bed. I couldn't believe how fast they were out. Kelby and I were so tired that we even fell asleep on the couch till the wee hours in the morning. Good thing Santa hadn't come yet.

We had an early wake-up call (3am) from Brooklynn who ran into our room yelling santa got us American girls dolls!!! She was so excited. We sent her back to bed. I think she really went and woke Ashley up. But they stayed in their rooms till 7:30-8. We got lucky...

On Christmas morning one of our traditions is taking turns opening presents so we can see what each person got. Then we had Christmas cinnamon rolls with scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. What a lazy day! I loved it.

Later that afternoon we were invited over to our friends Billie and Monty's house for dinner. It was wonderful! Turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes with lost of marshmallows, jello, and the best stuffing I have ever tasted. Dessert was pumpkin pie from Grandmas Jackie and a chocolate yummy to die for desert that Billie made. We had fun playing Wii, rocking out with guitar hero and American Idol.

The next week I took the kids to Utah were we spent New Years. Sarah, Chris and Carson were in town for the holidays and I finally got to meet my new nephew Max (Katie and Christian). Kelby flew in on new years eve so we could welcome the new year in together. My parents watched the kids while us sisters and spouses (-1 Megan was still in Wisconsin) went out to dinner and then back to KT's to hang out with no kids. (Thanks mom and dad!) I always have fun being with my family. I'm so lucky that I have a close (not in proximity :( ) family and that we love spending time together.

Love the pages. And it seems like you had a fun relaxing holiday. Kinda late, but still fun to read. =)I love American Dolls. My mom is going to start an etsy store selling clothes for them soon. I can let you know what it is when she starts. So the girls got a doll, and tons of clothes from grandma. It was great and they are so much better than barbies. I think anyhow. Talk to you later
